Trail Magic
The Magic of
the Journey Unfolds
"A trail is a pathway established either through construction or regular use, and it must be passable by at least one or more of the following, including but not limited to: foot traffic, stock, watercraft, bicycles, in-line skates, wheelchairs, cross-country skis, or off-road vehicles such as motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs and 4-wheel drive vehicles." (U.S. National Recreation Trail)
What is Trail Magic?
Trail magic is a term used by the thru-hiker community to describe acts of kindness and generosity encountered along long-distance trails. It can take many forms, such as finding an unattended cooler stocked with snacks and drinks on a hot day, a local resident providing a place to camp or stay for the night, or unmanned sales stations offering affordable refreshments and produce. These moments of unexpected support add a special sense of connection and community to the trail experience.
What is Trail Angel?
Trail Angels provide aid to weary travelers, offering essentials like water, walking poles, and a place to rest, creating what’s known as "trail magic."
